This Privacy Policy explains what information Random Regulars collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to this policy.
Who we are
Random Regulars is a social dining app operated by CCM Productions LLC, based in Columbus, Ohio. You can reach us any time at [email protected].
Information we collect
- Account & profile: your first and last name, email address, phone number, city/state/ZIP, and (optionally) a profile photo, bio, work industry, hobbies, goals, dietary preferences, cuisine likes, and budget.
- Activity: which events you RSVP to, the restaurant you pick, your private ratings of venues and of other people you met, and messages you send in group and one-to-one chats.
- Payments: if you buy a membership, our payment processor (PayPal) handles the transaction. We receive a record that a payment succeeded and the plan purchased — we never see or store your card number.
- Device & technical: if you enable notifications, the push subscription token your browser provides; and standard technical data such as your IP address and browser type, used to keep the service secure and working.
How we use your information
- To match you with tables, restaurants, and people you're likely to enjoy.
- To run events — RSVPs, venue assignments, reminders, and group chat.
- To send you service messages (event reminders, venue changes, verification, password resets) by email and, if you opt in, push notification.
- To keep the community safe and to enforce our Terms.
What other members can see
To protect your privacy, other members only ever see your first name — never your last name, email, or phone. Your profile photo, bio, hobbies, goals, and work industry are visible to people at your events. Your ratings of venues and of other people are private and are never shown to the people you rated. Messages are visible to the people in that group chat or one-to-one conversation.
How we share information
We do not sell your personal information. We share limited data only with service providers that help us run the app, and only as needed:
- PayPal — to process membership payments.
- Google Places — to look up restaurant details (we send a venue search, not your personal data).
- Email & push delivery providers — to send the emails and notifications you receive.
- Hosting & security providers — to serve the site and protect it from abuse.
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the safety of our members or the public.
Cookies
We use a small number of first-party cookies to keep you logged in, keep you logged in for up to 30 days if you choose, and protect forms against cross-site request forgery. We do not use third-party advertising or cross-site tracking cookies.
Your choices & rights
- Update most of your information any time on your Profile page.
- Notifications: turn push on or off from your Profile; unsubscribe from non-essential emails using the link in them.
- Access or delete: email us at [email protected] to request a copy of your data or to delete your account.
Data retention & security
We keep your information for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward as needed for legal, safety, and record-keeping purposes. Passwords are stored hashed, connections are encrypted in transit, and payment card details never touch our servers. No method is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data.
Age
Random Regulars is for adults 18 and older. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. If we make a material change, we'll update the date above and, where appropriate, let you know in the app.
